Vocal Revolution Presents to Rotary

Another well done lunch buffet greeted 19 Lexington Rotarians and 3 guests for the first April meeting.

Today’s singing had a bit of an uptick in tonal quality as two of our guests with polished a capella skills added their voices and energy.

Gene Chang and Lee Daum from the group Vocal Revolution, now headquartered in Lexington, made a presentation about their group. For more than 50 years they have been enjoying what Gene called the Hobby of Music- singing acapella.
Currently they have over 65 members ranging in age from 18-80 and are constantly recruiting new talent.
Their endeavors include reaching out to local schools with their performances to help raise awareness of music in general and the joy it can bring to participating in a group.
Being an all volunteer group poses some challenges for scheduling which subsequently means they need lots of notice to be able to put a group together for a performance. Sometimes as few as 4 members will perform as a quartet. Other times an ensemble of 6-12 members or a complete Chorus of 25-30 will perform.
Some of their favorite gigs include Singing Valentines, Special event performances and singing for seniors. Their success is evident by their collection of championships and titles they have won both regionally and nationally over the years.
If you have an idea for an event of your own that you want to make special, you can contact Lee or Gene at : business@vocalrevolution.org or their web site at www.vocalrevolution.org .
