World Peace and Understanding Award
Nomination Instructions
One of Rotary International’s major objectives is the promotion of world peace and understanding. The Rotary Club of Lexington would like to acknowledge and reward those in our community who work for peace and understanding on the local, national or international level. Thank you very much for considering nominating someone for the Rotary Club of Lexington’s World Peace and Understanding Award.
Please fill in the attached “World Peace and Understanding Award” nomination form. Letters of support from you or others may supplement this form. All information received is kept totally confidential including the fact that your nomination was submitted.
To qualify for the award, the candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Recipient must be a Lexington resident or work in Lexington
- Must not have won the award previously
- Cannot be a Lexington Rotarian nor a relative or spouse of a Lexington Rotarian
Of the nominees that have met the above qualifications, the Award Committee will select the person who, in their opinion, meets the following criteria based only on the submitted application and supporting material
- Has actively worked to increase understanding between conflicting groups with the goal of peaceful interaction
- Has demonstrated outstanding leadership
- Has made an objective difference in our community, our nation or internationally.
The award is given without regard to sex, race, or religious affiliation.
